Carrier Brand Heating and A/C Products

High-Quality HVAC Equipment

Cherokee Mechanical is Northwest Georgia's top choice for state-of-the-art, Carrier brand heating and air-conditioning equipment. We're proud to be a factory-authorized dealer of Carrier products and offer a wide variety of HVAC equipment to suit your home or commercial building's specific needs.

Air Conditioners

Our air-conditioning units have a number of advanced features, such as 2-stage compressors and variable speed fan operation. However, the key to choosing an
air-conditioning system is their Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER). Higher SEER numbers will save you more money on your energy bills. The current minimum standard according to the EPA is a 13 SEER air conditioner, though we offer models that go upto 20 SEER.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling of your home. They have both SEER ratings, a la air conditioners, but also a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) to help you determine their efficiency. Heat pumps are a great alternative to electric heat. It works like an air conditioner in the summer then runs in reverse to heat your house in the winter. Our heat pumps have a number of advanced features to choose from as well.

Fan Coils

A fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump's system, which includes the fan and the heating/cooling coil. We offer a number of different fan coils with different features, which allow you to slowly ramp up your thermostat setting instead of it turning on at full speed. This dramatically reduces any system noise as well as alleviating the "cold air blow" that is often associated with single-speed fan coils.

Gas Furnaces

Carrier's high-efficiency furnaces can save you upto 50% in operating costs as compared to older models. The newest gas furnaces have at least an AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating of at least 80%, but those made before 1990 are rated at just 65% or even less. Depending on your average usage, an AFUE furnace with a high rating can greatly reduce your gas bill. Select from a number of models with variable and multi-speed features.

Oil Furnaces

All our oil furnaces use no. 2 fuel oil that is burned in a sealed chamber to heat an exchanger. Oil furnaces carry AFUE ratings and just like gas furnaces, they start at 80% AFUE.

Boilers

If your home is heated by hot water radiators, you need a boiler as part of their system to properly heat the water within. Boilers also have an energy efficiency rating via the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE). All boilers manufactured since 2013 must have an AFEU of at least 82%.

Packaged HVAC Units

Cherokee Mechanical carries a complete line of packaged systems, including:
  • Packaged air conditioners
  • Packaged gas furnaces and air conditioners
  • Packaged heat pumps
  • Packaged hybrid heat
These self-contained systems are located outside of your home, mounted into the ground or on your roof and then ducted into the home. These package units also carry SEER, AFUE and HSPF ratings to help determine their efficiency.

Hybrid Heat Systems

A hybrid heat system combines the benefits of intelligent control for both gas and electric heating. These systems can actually react to changing conditions in your home. No matter what the temperature is, your new hybrid system will select the most efficient fuel source available automatically. Our expert technicians will work with you to design a custom hybrid heat system, matching one of our heat pump units with a natural gas furnace.

Geothermal Systems

A geothermal unit utilizes the constant temperature of the Earth for both heating and cooling of your home. You can realize up to 60% energy savings compared to a traditional system. Geothermal systems have no flame, flue, odor or loud outdoor equipment to worry about.

Duct-Free Systems

Duct-free systems are also available in a variety of through-the-wall packaged terminal air conditioners (PTAC) and duct-free heating and cooling systems to meet your specific needs. Just like whole-home systems, these units have their own SEER and HSPF ratings.

Carrier Thermostats

Programmable thermostats can be used to give you complete control over managing the temperature in your home. You can set your thermostat to change the temperature at certain times of the day and help you save even more on your overall energy usage.

Zoning Systems

Zoned heating and cooling systems divide your home into different areas with their own needs for similar temperatures. Multiple zone thermostats or sensors control temperatures in different areas of your home using this state-of-the-art system.

Air Cleaners

Remove bacteria, pollen, animal dander and other pollutants with an air cleaner installed by Cherokee Mechanical. The higher the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV), the more efficiently the cleaner removes particles from the air in your home. Our air cleaners range from MERV 10-15. If you or a member of your family suffers from severe allergies, you can also choose a whole house High-Efficiency Particulate Arresting (HEPA) filtration systems.

Humidifiers

Humidifiers can work in tandem with your furnace system to control the humidity levels within your home. Maintaining proper humidity levels can help maintain your comfort indoors during the cold winter months. Moderate humidity will help you feel warmer at lower temperatures, letting you set your thermostat at a lower number. A variety of humidifiers are available in different sizes, which are measured in Gallons per Day (GPD).

Ventilators

Ventilators can bring fresh air into your home without losing any energy. This unique energy exchange system can transfer heating or cooling energy from the stale air inside your house to fresh air brought indoors. If you or a loved one suffer from allergies, ventilators are a great alternative to opening the windows when it comes to bringing fresh air inside. They can also help remove any smells, smoke or pollutants from your home.

UV Lights

Ultraviolet light can kill bacteria and mold growing on indoor coils before they have had the chance to circulate in your home's air. UV lamps can be installed near your indoor coil to rid your home of bacteria, viruses, mold and germs. One or two lights are installed by the indoor coil, depending on its size.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

A CO detector can protect your family from deadly carbon monoxide gas in your home. Many different fuel-burning appliances can release carbon monoxide into the air. A monitored CO detector will alert you if a high level of this deadly gas is detected.

Garage Heaters

Keep your garage warm this winter with a garage heating unit. If you have a detached garage where you house your tools, your vehicles or have converted into a workshop, a garage heater is sure to help it stay comfortable. In fact, it can even help when it comes to warming up your vehicle first thing in the morning.

Standby Power Generators

A standby power generator can keep the electricity flowing during a power outage. You can rest easy knowing you have a totally automatic backup power source for your home. A quality generator will automatically turn on when the power goes out, whether you are home or not, and then turn off again when the power's back.
